WORKSHOP FORMAT:
Part 1: Background: You’ll be shown how to layer your paints to create beautiful abstract patterns inspired by the color & sunlight qualities of Hawaii.
Intermission: Tropical leaves and flowers may be gathered to inspire your senses. Walk the trails to the pretty little pond and choose a few botanical clippings.
Part 2: Embellishment – In this part of the class we will look at your abstract color background composition and then add more into it. Often, it’s best to have a few people look at your image to help you find that hidden starting pint. Then, discover the patterns that lay deeper within nature to find the underlying structures, angles, rhythms and symmetries to paint into areas of your canvas.
Part 3: Dinner -Kathy brings you food artistry to reward your senses and to celebrate having taken the time explore paint and create.
Included are brushes, paints, a canvas, botanical garden exploration, color theory discussion, demonstrations and dinner.
Appropriate for Ages 18 and up.
